Sure, she\u2019s in a big television hit and she\u2019s presently shooting\u00a0Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em>\u00a0until the middle of December, but the theater is her home; it\u2019s a place she seeks out.<\/p>\n \n Bierman saw Sink in New York in\u00a0John Proctor Is the Villai<\/em>n \u201cand thought she was fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n \n He adds that she \u201chas real, great stage presence and obviously has grown up on stage\u201d because of\u00a0Annie<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Audience.<\/em><\/p>\n \n Bierman and his Empire Productions produced Suzie Miller\u2019s\u00a0Prima Facie<\/em>, which won Jodie Comer countless prizes including a Tony and an Olivier.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n RELATED: Breaking Baz: Tessa Thompson\u2019s Scorching \u2018Hedda\u2019 Is A Woman \u201cIn Charge Of Her Own Destiny\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n \n He says that Texas-born Sink\u2019s initial meeting with Icke lasted four hours. \u201cAnd then she just threw herself in and did some workshop sessions with Rob, working on the language and text. And it grew organically from there really, that this was the play, this was the role for her. \u2026 As I say, it felt incredibly organic, very much from the ground up.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n \u201cAnd we\u2019re just very fortunate that the stars\u00a0have aligned because this sort of period of time that she was actually available to do something corresponded with the\u00a0Harold Pinter Theatre\u00a0being free,\u201d Bierman explains.<\/p>\n \n Performances of\u00a0<\/em>Romeo <\/em>& Juliet<\/em>\u00a0will start on March 16 for a limited 12-week run through June 6.<\/p>\n Noah Jupe at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival <\/span><\/p>\n Deadline<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n Spider-Man: Brand New Day\u00a0<\/em>is scheduled to open on July 31. There has been much speculation about the role Sink has<\/a> in the Spidey film, and frankly, I do not know the answer, but I do know that she\u2019ll join the cast of the next\u00a0Avengers<\/em>\u00a0picture that shoots here in London later in 2026.<\/p>\n \n RELATED: Sadie Sink Talks \u2018John Proctor Is The Villain\u2019, \u2018Stranger Things\u2019 And Joining The Marvel Universe \u2013 The Deadline Q&A<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n \n Shakespeare\u2019s\u00a0Romeo & Juliet<\/em>\u00a0was the first play that Icke directed professionally back in 2012, and Bierman says that Icke has \u201cunfinished business\u201d to resolve.<\/p>\n \n \u201cI think for Rob, it\u2019s about trying to explore, actually within the play, the question of time \u2026 and how there\u2019s a running motif in the piece about time and how everything\u2019s moving very, very quickly,\u201c Bierman says. \u201cAnd potentially, if it didn\u2019t move so quickly, they wouldn\u2019t have the outcome they have. And so he wants to explore it through the prism of time and time running out and just sort of hint at what might have happened if Romeo arrives half an hour later, he might find Juliet awake. But he doesn\u2019t. That\u2019s what makes it so tragic.\u201d<\/p>\n \n Icke enjoys thoroughly examining classic play texts to help him explore new ways of presenting the piece. A case in point is his stunning contemporary production of\u00a0Oedipus<\/em>,\u00a0which takes place on an election night. Rehearsals for\u00a0Romeo & Juliet <\/em>will begun in late January.<\/p>\n Sadie Sink<\/span><\/p>\n Caitlin Cronenberg<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n The creative tram will include\u00a0set and costume designer Hildegard Bechtler, lighting designer Jon Clark, sound designer Tom Gibbons and video designer Ash J. Woodward.<\/p>\n \n Casting directors Julia Horan and Jim Carnahan will liaise with Icke for further casting when he returns to the UK in the next few days.<\/p>\n \n I ask Bierman whether there\u2019s any likelihood of\u00a0Romeo & Juliet<\/em>\u00a0making its way to New York\u00a0at some point in the future.<\/p>\n \n He\u2019s quite sensibly cautious. \u201cI think, well for now, I think that\u2019s kind of it. And it\u2019s also \u2014 we\u2019ve just filled this nice gap before the next\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0<\/em>movie comes out, and then [Sink is] busy again.\u201d<\/p>\n \n Both he and Icke are excited with how Sink has jumped into working on the part. \u201cJuliet as a character has a lot of agency in it, and there\u2019s a lot more of an active journey for her that sometimes doesn\u2019t come out. \u2026 She\u2019s lived quite a sheltered life, and her parents are trying to marry her off to Paris,\u201d Bierman tells us. \u201cAnd she\u2019s realizing that maybe that\u2019s not her fate, but maybe there is a way out of that, that you don\u2019t just have to accept this.
