Country music star Mickey Guyton<\/a><\/strong> has had a stellar year. And, with a part in Hallmark’s A Grand Ole Opry Christmas<\/em><\/a> and the release of her new Christmas album right before the upcoming holidays, it should only get better.<\/p>\n She also admitted that, thanks to the infectious delight of her preschooler, she’s excited for the festivities in a way she hadn’t been in a while.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a 4-year-old son now, and Christmas has now started becoming magical for me again,\u201d the Grammy-nominated singer told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThe older you get, it\u2019s just a holiday you get to spend with your family, and traveling sucks, and it\u2019s so hard. But now that my son is 4, the holiday season means so much more now.\u201d<\/p>\n Feels Like Christmas<\/em> was officially released on October 24, but with danceable, happy songs like Sugar Cookie<\/em> and Mistletoe Kisses<\/em>, now is definitely a great time to put it in the rotation. However, for those looking for nostalgic songs, it’s best to look elsewhere.<\/p>\n \u201cChristmas is one of those holidays that can be either very cheerful or a reminder of what is lost,\u201d the Make It Me<\/em> singer said. \u201cAnd I didn\u2019t want to do that. I just wanted to bring uplifting messages to people.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI just wanted something upbeat,” she explained. “You know, 2025 has been a pretty heavy year for a lot of people, and I\u2019m not trying to discount that, but for my mental capacity, I needed something really positive for me. That\u2019s how I\u2019ve been able to cope with so much going on. And so that was my motivation: I just want people to feel light, just to feel good for a minute.\u201d<\/p>\n The album contains eight songs, including a duet with Michael Bolton<\/strong> and a cover of the Frozen tune “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” As for Guyton, there are at least two songs that will be on a loop in her home.<\/p>\n “Definitely ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You,’ Mariah Carey<\/strong>,” she proclaimed. “That song is the season every year, forever.
