Everyone&#8217;s feeling good,&#8221; said Eric Diton, president and managing director at The Wealth Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s what happens after Thanksgiving that might cause some pause. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/markets\/interest-rates\/cme-fedwatch-tool.html\" target=\"_blank\">futures market<\/a> is now pricing in a roughly 85% chance the U.S. Federal Reserve will cut interest rates by a quarter percentage point in December. When expectations are too high \u2014 and not met \u2014 disappointment will be all the more painful.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If the Fed disappoints, you could have a sell-off,&#8221; Diton said \u2014 but added, &#8220;I don&#8217;t think they will.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And if White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett does <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/24\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\">assume the role of Fed chair<\/a> when Jerome Powell vacates his seat, rates could trend even lower in the future, wrote Bank of America economist Aditya Bhave. <\/p>\n<p>Looser monetary policy tends to provide more support for stocks \u2014 that notion seems to be behind optimistic targets for the S&amp;P 500 by the end of 2026. So far, the numbers that have been floated are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/25\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\">7,400 from CFRA Chief Investment Strategist Sam Stovall<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/26\/jpmorgan-gives-bullish-2026-outlook-why-it-thinks-sp-500-8000-is-in-play.html\">as high as 8,000 from JPMorgan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Investors indeed have much to be thankful for in 2025 \u2014 and possibly the next year as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleBody-subtitle\"><a id=\"headline0\" \/>What you need to know today<\/h2>\n<div class=\"group\"><strong>Fourth straight day of gains for U.S. stocks. <\/strong>Major indexes closed higher on Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/25\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\">lifted by technology firms<\/a> such as Oracle and Nvidia. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/27\/asia-pacific-markets-today-thursday-nikkei-225-hang-seng-index-csi-300-kospi.html\">Asia-Pacific markets advanced Thursday<\/a>. Trade tensions with the U.S. pressured China&#8217;s exports in October.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AI can replace 11.7% of U.S. workforce, MIT says. <\/strong>That&#8217;s equivalent to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/26\/mit-study-finds-ai-can-already-replace-11point7percent-of-us-workforce.html\">$1.2 trillion in wages<\/a> across finance, health care and professional services.
