Brad Pitt<\/a> is leaning on girlfriend Ines de Ramon<\/a> during a holiday season that brings up mixed emotions for the Oscar winner.<\/p>\n \u201cThe holidays are always a more emotional time for Brad,\u201d a source exclusively tells PEOPLE, speaking to the A-lister’s complicated relationship with his six children with ex-wife Angelina Jolie<\/a>. \u201cWith some of the older kids distancing themselves and dropping Pitt from their last name, of course it adds another layer of sadness.\u201d<\/p>\n The source adds that Pitt, 61, \u201chas always wanted to be a devoted father and that\u2019s never changed.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/span> \u201cThe reality is that the holidays can be difficult when things are strained with his children, no matter what else is going on,\u201d the insider says.\u00a0<\/p>\n Pitt, whose mother Jane Pitt died in August<\/a>, has found steady support in his relationship with de Ramon<\/a>, a jewelry industry executive. \u201cAt the same time, he feels very grateful to have Ines in his life,\u201d the source shares. \u201cHer support and love mean the world to him.\u201d<\/p>\n In Los Angeles,\u00a0Pitt has stayed busy filming\u00a0The Adventures of Cliff Booth<\/em><\/a>, reprising his\u00a0Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood\u00a0<\/em>role with director David Fincher and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino. “Brad’s been on the ground and is extremely hands-on with the project,” says another source. “He shows up early, is super focused, energetic and fully invested in the movie.”<\/p>\n <\/span> The Fight Club<\/em> actor finalized his divorce from Jolie, 50, in December 2024, bringing an end to more than eight years of legal proceedings. Jolie filed to dissolve their marriage in September 2016. The former couple share six children: Maddox<\/a>, 24, Pax<\/a>, 21, Zahara<\/a>, 20, Shiloh<\/a>, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne<\/a>, 17.<\/p>\n Shiloh first filed to drop “Pitt” from her last name<\/a>\u00a0on her 18th birthday in May 2024. Shiloh isn’t the only child of Jolie and Pitt to appear to go by a different name. In the\u00a0Playbill<\/a>\u00a0for the musical\u00a0The Outsiders<\/a><\/em>, which Vivienne helped mom Jolie produce, the teenager is\u00a0listed as \u201cVivienne Jolie” instead of “Vivienne Jolie-Pitt,”<\/a>\u00a0PEOPLE confirmed at the time. It is not clear if Vivienne has also legally changed her name.\n<\/p>\n In November 2024, when\u00a0Zahara<\/a>\u00a0was\u00a0joining the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority<\/a>\u00a0at her university, Spelman College, the former couple’s eldest daughter\u00a0introduced herself as \u201cZahara Marley Jolie,\u201d a\u00a0video<\/a> shared by\u00a0Essence<\/em>\u00a0showed.\n<\/p>\n Pitt and de Ramon \u2014\u00a0who have been dating since 2022<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 recently attended the afterparty for George Clooney’s\u00a0Jay Kelly<\/em> together.
