Jedi Master Luke Skywalker himself, or at least the actor who plays him on screen, has revealed his favorite characters from the \u201cStar Wars<\/a>\u201d franchise. Mark Hamill<\/a> was speaking on \u201cLive with Kelly and Mark\u201d to promote the upcoming \u201cThe SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,\u201d where he voices The Flying Dutchman and explained the two characters from the sci-fi series that he finds most interesting \u2014 and neither of them are the iconic Jedi that he played.\u00a0<\/p>\n While appearing on the morning talk show with Kelly Ripa<\/a> and Mark Consuelos<\/a>, Hamill discussed his recent film work and how it has been diverse, as it has included \u201cThe SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants\u201d alongside two Stephen King adaptations. It was here that he got into a discussion about the different types of characters he has played and how he loves to portray villains.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve had a year where I did two Stephen King<\/a> adaptations,\u201d Hamill told the hosts. \u201cI did \u2018The Life of Chuck,\u2019 which is very serious but life affirming \u2014 By the way, my wife says that\u2019s the favourite movie I\u2019ve ever done in her opinion. But then I did \u2018The Long Walk,\u2019 both by Stephen King, which shows what a versatile writer he is.\u201d<\/p>\n It was at this point that host Mark Consuelos noted that it\u2019s \u201cfun to play a bad guy, right?\u201d to which Hamill quickly agreed and then responded by talking about the first time he got the chance to read the script for the first \u201cStar Wars\u201d film and what he thinks are the two top characters from the film.\u00a0<\/p>\n Hamill says, \u201cI remember when I first read \u2018Star Wars\u2019 I said that after Han Solo<\/a>, Darth Vader\u2019s<\/a> the best part.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI love the villains because, you know, actors don\u2019t always have to have a positive reaction. We just love reactions,\u201d Hamill explains. He then compared this to his role in the SpongeBob<\/a> movie saying, \u201cIf I do my job correctly, every child will hate my guts.\u201d<\/p>\n In the same interview, Hamill went on to reveal that he started out his acting career by appearing in daytime soap operas<\/a>. Noting the similarities between he and Consuelos in their early careers, he spoke about his time starring as Kent Murray on \u201cGeneral Hospita<\/a>l\u201d back in the \u201970s.<\/p>\n He went on to say that while he was never a fan of soap operas himself, it provided a great education in the world of entertainment and helped prepare him for his other roles he would have later in his career.\u00a0<\/p>\n Considering his love for villains, it might not be all that surprising to learn that Hamill has portrayed a number of bad guys in films and television series. Of course, his most memorable role other than Luke Skywalker is likely his voice acting for The Joker<\/a> in \u201cBatman: The Animated Series\u201d along with many spin-offs and other \u201cBatman\u201d adaptations.<\/p>\n However, he has also lent his voice to Skeletor in \u201cMasters of the Universe: Revelation,\u201d Fire Lord Ozai in \u201cAvatar: The Last Airbender, and Hobgoblin in \u201cSpider-Man: The Animated Series\u201d in addition to live-action roles such as The Trickster in various incarnations of \u201cThe Flash.\u201d<\/p>\n Jedi Master Luke Skywalker himself, or at least the actor who plays him on screen, has revealed his favorite characters from the \u201cStar Wars\u201d franchise.
