\n Hot on Instagram this AM: Warner Bros and Legendary\u2019s new Tom Cruise<\/a> movie directed by 4x Oscar winner Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu has been titled Digger<\/a> <\/em>and will hit theaters on Oct. 2, 2026 \u2014 that\u2019s the prized frame where Warner Bros\/DC\u2019s Joker <\/em>bowed in 2019.<\/p>\n \n The tagline for the pic on the poster is \u201ca comedy of catastrophic proportions.\u201d There was buzz out there that the movie was about the most powerful global figure who tries to convince everyone he\u2019s a savior. See the poster below.<\/p>\n \n Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu told us at Cannes<\/a> in response to that, \u201cNo, the thing that I can tell you. This is a wild comedy of catastrophic proportions. It\u2019s insane. He makes me laugh every day. The range that I discovered working with Tom is unprecedented for me as a director. I was so fu*king impressed and happy.\u201d<\/p>\n \n Digger <\/em>is Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu\u2019s first movie since directing 2022\u2019s Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths<\/em> for Netflix.
