CINCINNATI (WXIX) – TriHealth says they have reached an agreement with UnitedHealthcare to continue patient care ahead of their Dec. 31 contract expiration.<\/p>\n
Tri-Health says the agreement ensures its hospital, outpatient centers, and physicians remain in-network for patients.<\/p>\n
They say it also means care for UnitedHealthcare Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid patients will continue uninterrupted.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful for the opportunity to continue caring for the roughly 80,000 of our patients who have been affected by these negotiations and look forward to strengthening our relationship with UnitedHealthcare moving forward,\u201d said TriHealth President and CEO Mark C. Clement.<\/p>\n
[Watch more from FOX19 NOW]<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n TriHealth said it has been negotiating with UnitedHealthcare for a new agreement for more than a year.<\/p>\n The health system said their goals with negotiations have been fair reimbursement and less administrative red tape.<\/p>\n \u201cFor more than a year, TriHealth has been negotiating with United Healthcare for a new agreement so that we can continue to deliver exceptional care while controlling the cost of care for our community members,\u201d TriHealth said in a statement. \u201cWhile we remain hopeful we can reset our relationship with UHC, we want to give patients time to prepare in the event we cannot reach an agreement by Dec. 31.\u201d<\/p>\n UnitedHealthcare said TriHealth is demanding significant price increases that would impact local employers and families.<\/p>\n \u201cTriHealth continues to demand significant price hikes \u2014 the majority of which would come out of the budgets of local employers \u2014 impacting the money they have to grow their business and compensate their employees,\u201d UnitedHealthcare said. \u201cTriHealth\u2019s proposal would also increase health care costs for families, adding more financial strain for them during challenging times.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cQuality care can and should be affordable \u2014 and the people and companies we serve deserve both,\u201d UnitedHealthcare said.<\/p>\n See a spelling or grammatical error in our story? <\/i>Please click here to report it<\/i><\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n Do you have a photo or video of a breaking news story?
