SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 Tuesday marked one year since the start of President Donald Trump\u2019s second term. In response, dozens of people protested in downtown San Antonio.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople are beyond sadness, and they\u2019re rightfully angry,\u201d Tori Ramirez, an organizer with the Party for Socialism and Liberation in San Antonio, said. \u201cThey\u2019re ready to mobilize for change.\u201d<\/p>\n Protesters in San Antonio called for an end to violence with immigration enforcement. This demonstration was aligned with a national day of protest, including one at Taft High School<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like a lot of people turned up because we\u2019re sick of having ICE in our communities and want the violence to stop,\u201d student Mars Segovia said.<\/p>\n Trump spoke at a White House briefing on Tuesday. He held up a book of accomplishments, acknowledging his campaign promise of mass deportations.<\/p>\n In the briefing, Trump recognized some concern in the country right now with ICE officers, especially after the shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know they\u2019re dealing with rough people,\u201d Trump said. \u201cAre they gonna make a mistake? Sometimes it can happen.\u201d<\/p>\n KSAT reached out to ICE for a response to the protests.
