{"id":17858,"date":"2026-01-22T18:45:02","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T18:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jubi24.com\/?p=17858"},"modified":"2026-01-22T18:45:04","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T18:45:04","slug":"ex-michigan-football-coach-sherrone-moore-returns-to-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jubi24.com\/?p=17858","title":{"rendered":"Ex-Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore returns to court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"article-meta\"><span class=\"timestamp \">Jan 22, 2026, 01:30 PM ET<\/span><\/div>\n<p>ANN ARBOR, Mich. &#8212; Former <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"ea1660a4-aeb8-b9da-7d9f-fcd70d3a0162\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/130\/michigan-wolverines\">Michigan<\/a> football coach Sherrone Moore returned to court Thursday for the first time since being charged with vengeful acts against a woman shortly after he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/story\/_\/id\/47269785\/sources-michigan-fires-coach-sherrone-moore-9-3-season\">fired for having a relationship with her<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Moore, 39, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/story\/_\/id\/47286996\/fired-michigan-coach-sherrone-moore-charged-three-crimes\">faces three charges<\/a>, including felony home invasion and stalking. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and must wear a tracking device while free on bond.<\/p>\n<p>Moore&#8217;s attorney, Ellen Michaels, filed a motion Thursday to quash the arrest warrant, and Washtenaw County 14A-1 District Court Judge J. Cedric Simpson is scheduled to hear that on Feb. 17. Moore will next appear in court for a probable cause hearing on March 19.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Picks<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a name=\"&amp;lpos=story:editorspicks:inline:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/story\/_\/id\/47286996\/fired-michigan-coach-sherrone-moore-charged-three-crimes\" class=\"img-link\"><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a name=\"&amp;lpos=story:editorspicks:inline:2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/story\/_\/id\/47269785\/sources-michigan-fires-coach-sherrone-moore-9-3-season\" class=\"img-link\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jubi24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/r1580855_1296x1296_1-1.jpg&amp;w=130&amp;h=130&amp;scale=crop&amp;location=center.jpeg\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>A judge in the Ann Arbor area set a hearing for Thursday to get an update on the case, six weeks after Moore was fired and arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Moore went inside the woman&#8217;s apartment on Dec. 10 and blamed her for losing his job that day, even grabbing butter knives and kitchen scissors and threatening to kill himself, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My blood is on your hands,&#8221; Washtenaw County assistant prosecutor Kati Rezmierski has quoted Moore as telling the woman, who was a football staff member.<\/p>\n<p>Rezmierski said the woman had told school officials about their relationship. Moore was fired for the relationship and lying during the university&#8217;s investigation.
