\n From UFC matches to the US Open, President Donald Trump has had box seats at some of the most high-profile sporting events<\/a> in the country during his second term. But the president won\u2019t be attending football\u2019s biggest night: the Super Bowl.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cIt\u2019s just too far away. I would. I\u2019ve gotten great hands for the Super Bowl, they like me,\u201d Trump said in an interview with the New York Post on Friday<\/a>. \u201cI would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Super Bowl LX will be held February 8 at Levi\u2019s Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area.\n <\/p>\n \n Four teams are competing Sunday to earn their place in the game. The Seattle Seahawks face the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship, and the New England Patriots face the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship.\n <\/p>\n \n While Trump blamed his potential absence on the long flight, it\u2019s no secret he is not thrilled about this year\u2019s halftime performers, Bad Bunny and Green Day, both of whom backed<\/a> Kamala Harris in 2024. (The president has frequently traveled long distances in his second term, including to the Middle East, Asia and Europe.)\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI\u2019m anti-them. I think it\u2019s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,\u201d Trump told the Post.\n <\/p>\n \n After the artists were announced in October, Trump told NewsMax<\/a> he\u2019s \u201cnever heard of\u201d Bad Bunny, who has nearly 84 million monthly listeners<\/a> on Spotify, calling the choice \u201cridiculous.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican singer and rapper, didn\u2019t initially include US stops in his 2025-2026 tour because of fear that US Immigration Customs and Enforcement<\/a> would target concertgoers.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cThere was the issue that \u2026 ICE could be outside (my concert venue). And it\u2019s something that we were talking about and very concerned about,\u201d Bad Bunny said in an interview with i-D magazine<\/a> last year.\n <\/p>\n \n Green Day\u2019s lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, has also called out Trump\u2019s administration as a \u201cfascist government,<\/a>\u201d telling his audience at a concert, \u201cIt\u2019s up to us to fight back.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Trump has traveled along the East Coast during his second term to attend numerous sporting events, including UFC 314<\/a> in Miami, the Ryder Cup golf tournament in New York, the Army-Navy football game in Maryland, a New York Yankees game, and NCAA wrestling championships in Philadelphia.\n <\/p>\n \n Trump received a mixed reaction<\/a> at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City for the US Open men\u2019s finals, and similarly at Yankees Stadium, with some cheering and others booing.\n <\/p>\n \n Another factor for Trump skipping the Super Bowl may be that he does not have any properties in the Bay Area.
