\n Training Pads are ideal for puppies and dogs that stay indoors for long periods of time.<\/span>
What you should do:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Unfold the training pad and place it away from your dog\u2019s food and bed (blue plastic side down).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Place your puppy or dog on the training pad several times a day to get them used to it. On average, a puppy must relieve itself every few hours, based on its age (a 2-month-old puppy every 2 hours, a 3-month-old every 3 hours, etc.).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. If your pet relieves itself somewhere other than the designated spot where the pad is placed, bring them back to the correct spot immediately.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Keep in mind that your pet will have to relieve itself shortly after a meal and will need to eliminate more frequently during the summer when their water intake is higher.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. The minute your dog begins to relieve itself on the pad, use cues like \u201cgo potty.\u201d Use this cue every time your dog relieves itself on the pad so that they associate the phrase with the action of elimination.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Every time your pet uses the pad successfully, give a treat and lots of praise. Treating helps a dog understand that they\u2019re doing what you want them to do.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Always remember to dispose of soiled pads and replace them as needed.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  8. When your pet begins to relieve itself on the pads consistently, start moving the pad closer to the door.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Keep moving the pads closer to the door until they are actually outside. At this time, the training process will be complete.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
