Will students in the Mid-South be back in class<\/a> Feb. 3?<\/p>\n Many will be out until at least Feb. 4 after Memphis-Shelby County Schools again canceled school due to continued icy road conditions.<\/p>\n Memphis area public schools have canceled classes for the last week<\/a>, due to a winter storm<\/a> that caused snow and ice to build up on the roads. The last day many public school students were in the classroom was Jan. 23.<\/p>\n The snow and sleet that covered Memphis over the weekend have begun to melt, albeit slowly, and have often refrozen overnight,\u00a0making it difficult for roads to become clear<\/a>. The Memphis area did not get above freezing temperatures for multiple days, so the snow on the ground and on roadways has stuck.<\/p>\n But warmer weather is on the way. Temperatures this week are trending upwards, with multiple days expected to be above freezing this week.<\/p>\n Shelby County has also reported the most weather-related deaths in Tennessee since the start of the winter storm.
