The New England Patriots<\/a> have made their first significant cut of the 2026 offseason.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n On Monday, the Patriots announced they have released<\/a> running back Antonio Gibson, which was expected. The move saves the Patriots $3.1 million in cap space<\/a> while incurring a dead-money charge of $1 million.<\/p>\n Gibson appeared in 22 games (three starts) for the Patriots over two seasons after inking a three-year, $11.2 million deal in 2024.<\/p>\n Gibson tallied 120 carries for 538 yards and one touchdown while adding 23 catches for 206 yards in 2024.<\/p>\n In 2025, Gibson played in just five games before tearing his ACL<\/a>.
