Rhea Seehorn is no stranger to the Actor Awards (previously known as the SAG Awards) but tonight marks a big change from her past appearances at the ceremony. For the first time, the actress, who was a fan favorite on the Breaking Bad<\/em> prequel Better Call Saul<\/em>, is nominated in an individual category.<\/p>\n

The star received a nod in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series category for her work on Pluribus<\/em>, the Apple TV sci-fi series where she plays Carol, a misanthropic romance writer who becomes one of the few remaining autonomous humans on Earth after a mysterious force turns most of the planet into a chipper, eager-to-please hive mind.<\/p>\n

So far this season, she\u2019s already taken home the Best Actress win at both the Critics Choice and Golden Globes, and now she\u2019s looking to make it a hat trick. She has previously competed three times in the ensemble category at the Actor Awards along with her Better Call Saul<\/em> co-stars in 2019, 2021, and 2023.<\/p>\n

Seehorn walked the red carpet tonight looking lovely in a strapless Louis Vuitton dress.<\/p>\n

This year, the Actor Awards had a change of name, shifting from the SAG Awards to its new title in an effort to be more inclusive of the actors\u2019 guild\u2019s full title SAG-AFTRA (the SAG and AFTRA guilds merged over a decade ago, but the award remained known merely as the SAG awards) as well as to be more approachable to international audiences. \u201cSince the show started over 30 years ago, our iconic statuette has always been called The Actor, and simply evolving the show\u2019s name to align with the award itself made obvious sense,\u201d the organization shared in a statement. \u201cWe wanted to provide clearer recognition in terms of what the show is about for our domestic and global audiences \u2013 we honor actors in film and television. Laser-focusing the name on those two things became the clearest and most straightforward path for this new chapter of the show.\u201d<\/p>\n
