However, he doesn\u2019t have as much hardware as you\u2019d think. He\u2019s never finished higher than third in Defensive Player of the Year voting and has only made 1st Team All Defense once. Although he hasn\u2019t gotten love from the voters, Bam knows that everyone <\/a>sees his value:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cFrom my peers and the people who play against me and understand that you\u2019ve got to put me in the corner, so I don\u2019t mess up your offensive schemes, that\u2019s what matters more\u2026 that\u2019s real in basketball. A lot of people who are doing surveys wouldn\u2019t know that. They just think because, \u2018Oh, he\u2019s a DPOY because he has five blocks a game.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n An inspired closing run by the Heat could cause voters to change their mind.
