Severe storms possible. Tornado risk has increased.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p><!-- \/article\/blocks\/headline --><\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/article\/blocks\/poster-media --><\/p>\n<p>                                                    AND THREE, TWO, ONE. GOOD TUESDAY, A METEOROLOGIST     JOSEPH NEUBAUER, WITH YOUR UPDATED STORM TIMELINE FOR LATER THIS AFTERNOON. AND THIS EVENING, A SEVERE WEATHER UPGRADE TO SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA AND EVEN PARTS OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA. A LEVEL THREE OUT OF FIVE RISK HAS BEEN ADDED AS YOU GET FURTHER UP ON THIS LEGEND HERE, YOUR FREQUENCY, YOUR VOLUME FOR THE AMOUNT OF STORM REPORTS GOES UP. SO WHAT WAS MAYBE ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS IS NOW GONE UP TO MORE OF A SCATTERED RISK. WE MAY SEE SOME MORE HAIL THREATS, MORE TORNADO THREATS, AND MORE WIND THREATS OUT OF THIS SYSTEM, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON SOUTHWESTERN AND SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA AND EVEN CLOSE TO THE OKC METRO TO THE PARTICULAR THREATS WE\u2019RE WATCHING FOR. START WITH HAIL PING PONG, THE GOLF BALL SIZED HAIL HERE IN THE OKC METRO, AND THEN A POCKET AS YOU GO DOWN I-44 INTO SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA, WHERE WE COULD REALLY GET MORE GOLF BALL SIZED HAIL REPORTS, EVEN UP TO TENNIS BALL, POSSIBLY EVEN BASEBALL SIZED HAIL. BUT THAT IS EXTREMELY ISOLATED. THE OTHER THREAT THAT IS PULLING UP OUR SEVERE WEATHER PROBABILITIES IS THE RISK FOR TORNADOES. IT IS NOW UP TO A FOUR OUT OF TEN ON THE TORNADO INDEX. THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT WE WERE WATCHING KIND OF EXCLUSIVELY FOR SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA, BASED ON THE SHEAR AND THE ROTATION PARAMETERS. THAT IS NOW EXTENDED A LITTLE BIT FURTHER TO THE NORTH. THOSE INGREDIENTS RIGHT HERE INTO THE OKC METRO DOESN\u2019T GUARANTEE A TORNADO, BUT WE COULD SEE A FEW. AND THAT THREAT CREEPING UP 50 MILES OR SO FURTHER TO THE NORTH TO INCLUDE OKC AND EVEN OUR FRIENDS UP IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA WILL NEED TO WATCH TOO. THERE WILL BE A COUPLE SUPERCELLS THAT GO UP OUT WEST, AND THEY COULD ROTATE IMMEDIATELY. WE\u2019LL HAVE TO WATCH FOR THAT RISK RIGHT AROUND SUNSET. SO 6 TO 8, 9:00. OBVIOUSLY SOME STRONG WINDS TO UP TO 70MPH. I THINK STORMS BEGIN AS EARLY AS 4:00, 5:00 OUT IN WESTERN AND SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA. THAT\u2019S WHEN WE\u2019RE ALL HANDS ON DECK HERE AT KOCO 5, BRINGING YOU THE FIRST ALERT FOR THE OKC METRO. IT STARTS TO GET, I\u2019D SAY, UP A NOTCH AROUND 6 TO 7:00, AND THEN EIGHT AND NINE IS LIKE THAT PEAK HERE FOR OKC AS STORMS MOVE THROUGH. WRAPPING UP AROUND 10 TO 11 EAST OF OKLAHOMA CITY. AND THIS EVENT IS ESSENTIALLY DONE BY MIDNIGHT. SO PREDICTOR DOING A PRETTY GOOD JOB CONSISTENCY WISE WITH WHEN THE STRONGEST STORMS GO UP. A COUPLE SUPERCELLS AND NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA OBVIOUSLY THESE STORMS ARE GOING UP JUST TO THE WEST OF OKC A FEW SPOTS DOWN IN SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA I THINK INITIALLY THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. THIS IS WHEN SOME OF OUR LARGEST HAIL IS FALLING JUST WEST AND SOUTHWEST OF OKLAHOMA CITY. THIS BROKEN LINE OF STORMS MOVES INTO CENTRAL OKLAHOMA. AFTER 7:00. THERE\u2019S YOUR PEAK AT EIGHT AND NINE, AND YOU CAN SEE THESE SUPERCELLS. THEY LOOK TOUGH EVEN ALL THE WAY INTO SOUTHERN KANSAS. SO EACH ONE OF THESE PARTICULAR CELLS ON THIS 70% CHANCE OF RAIN OR SO WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR ROTATING STORMS, LARGE HAIL, A TORNADO RISK. WE KNOW A COUPLE TORNADOES COULD MAYBE SPAWN OUT OF THIS. AND THEN VERY STRONG WINDS TO EVENT STARTS TO WIND DOWN AFTER TEN 11:00. AND THEN WE\u2019RE ESSENTIALLY DONE WITH THIS EVENT ONCE WE ARE PAST MIDNIGHT.
