Louisville residents could see up to three quarters of an inch of rainfall as thunderstorms are expected to move through the area March 11, according to recent forecasts by the National Weather Service in Louisville.<\/p>\n

NWS officials said the area could see potentially-severe weather<\/a> as a cold front moves through the area, which could result in pockets of damaging winds and the possibility of a few spin-up tornadoes. The chance of precipitation for the area is 100%, with showers and thunderstorms likely in the morning and late afternoon, according to NWS.<\/p>\n

Here are the latest updates on weather in the area.<\/p>\n

7 a.m.: Wind advisory issued<\/span><\/h2>\n

In addition to the tornado watch, Jefferson County will be under a wind advisory from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 11.<\/p>\n

During the 11-hour window, widespread wind gusts of 30-40 miles per hour and scattered wind gusts of 40-45 miles per hour are expected.<\/p>\n

6:45 a.m.: NWS Louisville issues tornado watch<\/span><\/h2>\n

The National Weather Service in Louisville issued a tornado watch for Jefferson County until 12 p.m. March 11. The watch goes into parts of Illinois, central Indiana, and Ohio.<\/p>\n

Isolated hail and scattered gusts up to 70 miles per hour are possible.<\/p>\n
