Travelers at two of the nation’s biggest airports will have one less airline option beginning this summer.<\/p>\n
After June 4, Southwest Airlines says it will no longer offer flights out of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport or Washington, D.C.’s Dulles International Airport.<\/p>\n
The airline says all flights booked after that date will be canceled. Rebooking or refund options will be offered to customers.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Southwest said it has been “challenging” to operate out of O’Hare. The airline said it can continue to serve the Chicago market out of Midway Airport.<\/p>\n
The airline will continue its service at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Baltimore-Washington International airports.<\/p>\n
Southwest employees working at the impacted airports will be able to apply for open positions in the company.<\/p>\n
