Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> quarterback Joe Burrow<\/a> suffered an apparent leg injury during the second quarter of the team’s home-opening NFL Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> at Paycor Stadium.<\/p>\n Burrow remained down after a hit<\/a> and removed his helmet. Medical personnel evaluated Burrow, and the star QB walked with some assistance to the sideline to the blue medical tent for further evaluation.<\/p>\n Burrow went to the locker room a short time later, with 7:04 left in the first half. He couldn’t appear to put any weight on his injured lower leg.<\/p>\n Burrow was replaced by backup Jake Browning<\/a>.<\/p>\n Burrow, who finished the 2024 season as the league leader<\/a> in passing yards and touchdown passes, was sacked for a 17-yard loss during the first quarter and brought down later<\/a> on a scary horse-collar tackle by the Commanders’ Deatrich Wise Jr. before he left the Bengals’ NFL preseason game against Washington. ESPN’s Jason Kelce questioned the Bengals<\/a> for allowing the hits.<\/p>\n Burrow was evaluated for a concussion<\/a> during the Bengals’ Week 18 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers in January.<\/p>\n During a win in Dallas, Burrow was injured after his\u00a0facemask was grabbed<\/a>\u00a0and twisted by Cowboys rookie Marist Liufau. The injury did not force Burrow out of the game. Two days later, the NFL announced it\u00a0would consider employing<\/a>\u00a0replay assistance for\u00a0facemask<\/a>\u00a0infractions.<\/p>\n During a Week 10 loss to Baltimore, the Ravens’ Marlon Humphrey\u00a0wasn’t penalized<\/a>\u00a0for hitting Burrow late. In addition, Ravens defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike\u00a0grabbed Burrow’s facemask<\/a>, but was not penalized.<\/p>\n During a Week 9 win against the Raiders, Burrow had bleeding below his ear after a\u00a0hit after the whistle<\/a>\u00a0by Maxx Crosby. The Raiders’ defensive end\u00a0was fined $11,255<\/a>\u00a0for the hit.<\/p>\n Burrow\u00a0was evaluated<\/a>\u00a0for a concussion during the fourth quarter of the\u00a0NFL Week 6 win<\/a>\u00a0against the Giants.<\/p>\n Burrow suffered a season-ending arm injury in 2023.
