David Ayer<\/a> is commenting on a controversial Suicide Squad<\/a><\/strong> scene involving Ben Affleck<\/a>\u2019s Batman<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ayer\u2019s Suicide Squad was released in 2016 from DC Studios<\/a> and Warner Bros. Pictures<\/a>. Part of the DCEU<\/a>, the movie stars Will Smith<\/a> as Floyd Lawton\/Deadshot<\/a>, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag Jr., and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.<\/p>\n A controversial scene in Suicide Squad sees Affleck\u2019s Batman arrest Deadshot in front of his daughter. Many have complained that this seems uncharacteristic of Batman, especially because the moment happens in an alleyway similar to the one where Bruce Wayne\u2019s parents were shot and killed.<\/p>\n On Twitter<\/a>, Ayer opened up about this moment, saying, \u201cWish you could see the scene as shot. There\u2019s a lot going on. It\u2019s rich and emotional. Perhaps by arresting her father, Batman believes he\u2019s sparing her worse trauma. Or perhaps with his own traumatic past Batman is doing what many hurt people do: he\u2019s leaving wreckage behind him without being aware. Batman has always operated at the edge. Does he fight and arrest bad guys to protect his wounded inner child? Is he just reenacting the past from an unhealthy place? I love this kind of debate.\u201d<\/p>\n Ayer has been vocal about how the final cut of Suicide Squad doesn\u2019t reflect the director\u2019s vision for the movie. This has since started a #ReleaseTheAyerCut movement, which is an attempt to let Ayer bring his fully-realized version of Suicide Squad to HBO Max. At this time, there\u2019s been no official announcement from Warner Bros.
