HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — <\/span>The family in apparent murder-suicide scene in River Oaks<\/a> has been identified as Matthew and Thy Mitchell, owners of Traveler’s Table, according to the hospitality group.<\/p>\n The Houston Police Department is calling Matthew, age 52, the suspect in the case.<\/p>\n Matthew and Thy, along with their two kids, were found dead Monday evening after a welfare check call, according to reports.. Authorities said a babysitter and a family member reported not hearing from the Mitchells.<\/p>\n The kids’ names were not released, but authorities said they were 8 and 4 years old.<\/p>\n Neighbors at the scene told ABC13 they noticed some irregularities on Monday before the scene was uncovered.<\/p>\n Police believe the incident was isolated to the Mitchell family, but are asking for anyone with additional information to contact HPD’s homicide division.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Copyright \u00a9 2026 KTRK-TV.
