Here\u2019s what to know if your car has an open recall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/cars\/news\/2025\/09\/17\/ice-raid-on-hyundai-plant-leads-to-production-setback\/86200252007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hyundai<\/a> has recalled nearly 600,000 vehicles, more than 500,000 of them for potential <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/recalls\/automotive\/NHTSA-25V607000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">seat belt failures<\/a> and about 30,000 for defective <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/recalls\/automotive\/NHTSA-25V606000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electric vehicle charging port doors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 12, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/cars\/research\/reviews\/2025\/09\/17\/hyundai-palisade-xrt-pro-review\/86206083007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hyundai<\/a> Motor America announced the recall of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/?nhtsaId=25V607000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">568,850<\/a> 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles for seat beat buckles in the driver, passenger and second-row window seats that may fail to latch.<\/p>\n<p>As of Sept. 11, Hyundai was aware of 546 reports of detective seat belt latches in the outlined vehicles, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/rcl\/2025\/RCLRPT-25V607-6198.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recall report<\/a>. These reports did not involve crashes, injuries or fatalities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">What does it mean for consumers? <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/cars\/news\/2025\/09\/17\/ice-raid-on-hyundai-plant-leads-to-production-setback\/86200252007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Hyundai ICE raid halts EV production in Georgia.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hyundai also recalled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/?nhtsaId=25V606000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">31,042<\/a> 2023-2025 IONIQ 6 electric vehicles for charging port doors that may detach.<\/p>\n<p>As of Sept. 11, Hyundai was aware of six reports of detective charging port, according to a NHTSA <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/rcl\/2025\/RCLRPT-25V606-6672.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recall report<\/a>. These reports also did not involve crashes, injuries or fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai estimates for both recalls that about 1% of the manufactured vehicles have the defects.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what to know about the recalls.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Hyundai Palisade faulty seat belts recall<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Vehicles impacted: <\/strong>Hyundai recalled certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles manufactured between April 10, 2019 and June 16, 2025, according to a NHTSA <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/rcl\/2025\/RCLRPT-25V607-6198.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recall report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to do: <\/strong>Until replacement, Hyundai advises drivers and passengers to insert the seatbelt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, according to a NHTSA recall report.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai dealers will inspect and replace the seatbelt buckle, as necessary, for free.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Hyundai IONIQ 6 defective charging port door recall<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Vehicles impacted: <\/strong>Hyundai recalled certain 2023-2025 IONIQ 6 electric vehicles manufactured between Dec. 14, 2022 and Dec. 26, 2024, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/rcl\/2025\/RCLRPT-25V606-6672.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NHTSA recall report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to do: <\/strong>Hyundai dealers will inspect and replace the charging port door, as necessary, for free.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460.
