When you head out to Fair Park for this year&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/tag\/state-fair-of-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">State Fair of Texas<\/a>, the costs can add up, but there are plenty of deals and discounts to be had on tickets, food and rides.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the fair runs from Friday, Sept. 26, through Sunday, Oct. 19.<\/p>\n<p>Regular-priced tickets to the fair Monday-Thursday cost between $19 and $29 for adults and between $14 and $24 for kids and seniors. On Friday, prices go up to $20 for adults and $15 for kids and seniors. Fairgoers pay $25 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors on weekends. Tickets are<a href=\"https:\/\/bigtex.com\/buy-tickets\/discounts\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bigtex.com\/buy-tickets\/discounts\/\">\u00a0available online<\/a>\u00a0or at the gate. The ability to cash in on the deals below will depend on where you choose to purchase your ticket.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-nbc-section-heading\">Admission prices and discounts<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On Opening Day, Sept. 26, get a $10 admission at the gate if you\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ntfb.org\/blog-north-texas-food-bank-and-state-fair-of-texas-kick-off-feed-the-need-food-drive\/\">bring two jars of peanut butter<\/a>\u00a0to donate to the North Texas Food Bank. This deal is only available at the gate and only on Opening Day.<\/li>\n<li>On any day, a McDonald&#8217;s discount coupon can get you $5 off a ticket. The coupons are available at North Texas locations on tray liners and inside to-go bags. Tickets can be bought at the gate or online with a promo code.<\/li>\n<li>On any day, active military, retired military and veterans can get $5 off a ticket by showing valid documentation of military service at the gate. Spouses and children also receive the discount. For information on how to obtain your Military ID Card before your visit to the Fair, contact your military branch or go to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cac.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.cac.mil<\/a>.<br \/>On any day, active and retired first responders can get $5 off a ticket by showing a badge or ID card at the gate or online. Spouses and children also receive the discount.<\/li>\n<li>On any day, adults pay\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bigtex.com\/buy-tickets-new\/daily-admission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kids&#8217; prices after 5 p.m.<\/a> Tickets are available online and at the gate.<\/li>\n<li>On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Big Tex insiders can buy tickets online for a reduced price of $12. Get the promo code by texting BIGTEX to 877-724-4839.<\/li>\n<li>On Wednesdays before 5 p.m., bring five canned good items to donate to the North Texas Food Bank and get an admission ticket for $7.<\/li>\n<li>Every Thursday senior citizens age 60 and up can get into the fair for $7 at the gate or $9 online (including fees).<\/li>\n<li>High school students can purchase one-day admission tickets for $12 from Monday through Thursday using a promo code provided by their school. <a href=\"https:\/\/tickets.bigtex.com\/eventperformances.asp?evt=211\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The offer is only available online<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>FLEX ticket packages allow fairgoers to purchase tickets in advance for any day and the 2-pack or 4-pack combo include $50 in food and Midway coupons.<\/li>\n<li>If you plan to head to the fair a few times, <a href=\"https:\/\/bigtex.com\/buy-tickets-new\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bigtex.com\/buy-tickets-new\/\">a\u00a0digital season pass<\/a>\u00a0might be the ticket. $52 gets you inside the gates all 24 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Buy tickets online here from <a href=\"https:\/\/bigtex.com\/buy-tickets\/discounts\/#10deals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bigtex.com<\/a>.
