Shonda Rhimes<\/strong><\/a>, the creator of Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/strong><\/a>, revealed that some of the character deaths <\/strong>on the show have \u201chorrified\u201d her and compared those scenes to a \u201csnuff film.\u201d While Rhimes is one of the key writers, she said that she hasn\u2019t \u201creally watched the show.\u201d<\/p>\n On the Call Her Daddy podcast, Shonda Rhimes, who\u2019s also a producer of the popular medical drama, was asked about the gruesome deaths of Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) and Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) during the early seasons.<\/p>\n \u201cYou have to think about the fact that I haven\u2019t really watched the show,\u201d Rhimes revealed. \u201cSo I recently went back and I started watching select pieces of episodes. I watched that episode, and I was horrified. I was like, \u2018Oh my God, this is like a freaking snuff film.\u2019 Like, what the heck?\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n \u201cDuring the time when I\u2019m doing it, I\u2019m inside the story,\u201d Rhimes continued, explaining her process. \u201cI always think my job is to be keeper of the story, not keeper of the actors, not keeper of the show, not keeper of the fans. My whole job is to just be true to the story,\u201d the Scandal writer explained.<\/p>\n She further added, \u201cI watch it back now, and I was like, \u2018I can\u2019t believe that actually happened, and that people survived watching that. That was horrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n Following a plane crash, both Lexie and Mark died in the Season 8 finale and Season 9 premiere, respectively. However, it was another central character from the early seasons that \u201cbroke\u201d the Crossroads writer.<\/p>\n \u201cGeorge was really\u2026 That character is so beloved,\u201d she revealed, referring to George O\u2019Malley, played by T. R. Knight. \u201cT.R. is such a lovely guy. That was such a hard thing to do. He was so\u2026 T.R. was so amazing cuz there was no, like, he didn\u2019t need to lay on that table. But he was like I\u2019m going to do the role even though you\u2019re never going to see my face the whole nine years.
