It\u2019s a tough time.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Billie and Georgia are \u201ctaking it day by day\u201d as their father faces the progressive neurodegenerative disease, she added. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The \u201cCountdown\u201d actor announced his ALS diagnosis in April.  <span class=\"credit\">VEGAN \/ BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cI am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter,\u201d he told People at the time.  <span class=\"credit\">ALEXJR \/ BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe have some professional therapists who are helping us, and we\u2019re just trying to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/09\/16\/celebrity-news\/eric-dane-advocates-for-als-cure-after-missing-emmys-2025-in-video-showing-disease-progression\/\">have some hope<\/a>\u00a0and do it with dignity, grace and love,\u201d Gayheart continued. <\/p>\n<p>Though the \u201cBeverly Hills, 90210\u201d alum hasn\u2019t yet found a \u201cpositive nugget\u201d in the family\u2019s plight, she said they\u2019d become closer as a family. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, we\u2019re definitely dealing with something that has brought us all together, and Eric will always be my family, whether we\u2019re married or not, or living in the same house or not,\u201d she explained, adding that ALS is a \u201chorrible disease.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cUrban Legend\u201d actress <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/04\/11\/celebrity-news\/rebecca-gayheart-clarifies-status-of-her-rocky-marriage-to-eric-dane-as-he-battles-als\/\">clarified her relationship with Eric<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 who had previously been spotted\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/06\/19\/celebrity-news\/eric-dane-has-date-night-with-janell-shirtcliff-during-first-red-carpet-appearance-since-als-diagnosis\/\">stepping out with Janelle Shirtcliff\u00a0<\/a>in the months following his diagnosis \u2014 in April. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Gayheart told People in September that their daughters Georgia and Billie are \u201creally suffering\u201d amid their father\u2019s condition.  <span class=\"credit\">BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The former couple called off their divorce in March.  <span class=\"credit\">VEGAN \/ BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe are best of friends.
