Texas did not play over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>BYU, which was unbeaten before its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/game\/_\/gameId\/401756945\/byu-texas-tech\">29-7 loss<\/a> at <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"4350bc91-1a0d-8292-bf66-9687147703f0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/2641\/texas-tech-red-raiders\">Texas Tech<\/a>, dropped four spots to No. 12 to end its two-week stay in the top 10.<\/p>\n<p><a data-clubhouse-guid=\"2fc3b71f-8247-22a5-f6da-df3902cbb438\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/194\/ohio-state-buckeyes\">Ohio State<\/a> was No. 1 for the 11th week in a row with 55 first-place votes. <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"bd06efe1-3050-2356-37c1-4b3fef1c29be\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/84\/indiana-hoosiers\">Indiana<\/a> remained No. 2 after its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/story\/_\/id\/46895885\/indiana-rallies-vs-penn-state-stays-unbeaten-wild-td-catch\">narrow escape<\/a> at <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"899b6845-67a4-16b2-c4a6-2406312be7fc\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/213\/penn-state-nittany-lions\">Penn State<\/a>, but the Hoosiers&#8217; six first-place votes were five fewer than last week.<\/p>\n<p>No. 3 <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"014788cd-231c-e33e-32c3-7e8d9a1e530f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/245\/texas-a&amp;m-aggies\">Texas A&amp;M<\/a> got four first-place votes, three more than a week ago, and was 31 points behind Indiana. <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"258022c1-fed4-a0ce-c017-1f853c81d1a8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/333\/alabama-crimson-tide\">Alabama<\/a> and Georgia rounded out the top five. <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"f6196074-c394-4821-7b0b-c4271d9467de\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/145\/ole-miss-rebels\">Ole Miss<\/a>, <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"116d333f-cf1a-0c67-d450-36a834af56de\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/2483\/oregon-ducks\">Oregon<\/a>, Texas Tech, <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"ebc2999c-2ff4-8435-ca46-9641e9f9ea10\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/87\/notre-dame-fighting-irish\">Notre Dame<\/a> and Texas rounded out the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>In all, 19 spots in the Top 25 changed hands.<\/p>\n<p>The ACC has five teams with one loss in conference play and two others with two losses. That&#8217;s reflected in the closely bunched group of ACC teams in the poll &#8212; No. 14 <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"e2e3ae48-f880-5489-0628-b2286d0adca1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/59\/georgia-tech-yellow-jackets\">Georgia Tech<\/a>, No. 16 <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"2b3657a5-caae-31a2-899a-0d09df0f7bed\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/2390\/miami-hurricanes\">Miami<\/a>, No. 19 <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"0584f11f-3e1c-d2ac-b852-35a74216c53e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/97\/louisville-cardinals\">Louisville<\/a>, No. 20 Virginia and No. 23 <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"f09e85bd-989f-dcff-53ac-0feda69b8959\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/221\/pittsburgh-panthers\">Pittsburgh<\/a>. The last time the ACC had as many ranked teams was Nov. 3, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Pittsburgh, No. 24 in the initial CFP rankings, is in the AP poll for the first time since last November.<\/p>\n<p>The race for the Group of Five&#8217;s automatic bid in the College Football Playoff got more interesting with <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"29a2a6b5-5874-ac84-39e4-b5ab605e7449\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/235\/memphis-tigers\">Memphis<\/a>&#8216; loss to <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"523d67cf-ee6a-4fb9-8dd4-44fd6a3a1115\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/2655\/tulane-green-wave\">Tulane<\/a> on Friday. The CFP committee did not have a G5 team in its top 25 but said Memphis was first in line. That will almost certainly change when the committee&#8217;s next rankings come out Tuesday.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Picks<\/h2>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>No. 24 <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"d3179876-bd5b-83af-e4d7-e4aebd383f15\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/256\/james-madison-dukes\">James Madison<\/a> of the Sun Belt Conference made its first AP poll appearance since 2023, when Curt Cignetti&#8217;s last Dukes team was in the final seven regular-season polls. The Dukes are 8-1, their only loss to Louisville, and are the highest-ranked G5 team.<\/p>\n<p>No. 25 <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"ffff063f-c8a9-7bd0-d414-93464f5b4ce0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/58\/south-florida-bulls\">South Florida<\/a> of the American Conference is right behind after the Bulls&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/game\/_\/gameId\/401762500\/utsa-south-florida\">32-point win<\/a> over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/2636\/utsa-roadrunners\">UTSA<\/a>, and Tulane of the American received the most votes among the unranked.<\/p>\n<p>The last time there were teams from two G5 conferences ranked at the same time was last year, when <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"ef2be04b-491c-0b6d-e4d9-1fbf2ab5cbca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/68\/boise-state-broncos\">Boise State<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/2439\/unlv-rebels\">UNLV<\/a> of the Mountain West and <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"4ee86128-e7c4-fc44-0ef7-9d39671f35cb\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/349\/army-black-knights\">Army<\/a> and Memphis of the American were in the final two polls of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia and James Madison give the commonwealth two ranked teams for the first time since the final 2023 regular-season poll (<a data-clubhouse-guid=\"fb2a277f-feda-6d2f-cc06-5ac1962c3c98\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/2335\/liberty-flames\">Liberty<\/a>, James Madison).<\/p>\n<p><a data-clubhouse-guid=\"6bbe4a57-263d-12b2-639a-f1db99afcac9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/142\/missouri-tigers\">Missouri<\/a> (19), Memphis (22) and <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"0c6752e3-aae3-f2c1-32c6-79b79425f9cc\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/264\/washington-huskies\">Washington<\/a> (24) dropped out this week.<\/p>\n<p><b>CONFERENCE CALL<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>SEC (8):<\/b> Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 21.<\/p>\n<p><b>ACC (5):<\/b> Nos. 14, 16, 19, 20, 23.<\/p>\n<p><b>Big Ten (5):<\/b> Nos. 1, 2, 7, 17, 18.<\/p>\n<p><b>Big 12 (4):<\/b> Nos. 8, 12, 15, 22.<\/p>\n<p><b>Independent (1):<\/b> No. 9.<\/p>\n<p><b>Sun Belt (1):<\/b> No. 24.<\/p>\n<p><b>American (1):<\/b> No. 25.<\/p>\n<p><b>RANKED VS.
