Television and radio personality Ryan Seacrest announced the death of his father, Gary Lee Seacrest, after a long battle with prostate cancer.<\/p>\n
The \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d host shared the news in an emotional Instagram post<\/a> last week, featuring a carousel of family photos and a heartfelt tribute.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my loving father peacefully passed away earlier this week,\u201d Seacrest wrote. \u201cMy mom, sister and I have peace knowing he is in a better place and free of any pain or suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n Seacrest continued: \u201cWe are heartbroken. He was a devoted husband for 56 years, an incredible Papa to Flora, and my best friend. Dad, you will live in our hearts forever. I love you. Ryan.\u201d<\/p>\n Gary Seacrest had battled prostate cancer for years, Parade<\/a> reported.
