  • Michelle Yeoh continued her bold Wicked hair transformations with her most dramatic haircut yet on Monday, November 17.
  • The actress showed off a pixie cut with chunky frosted highlights at the Wicked: For Good premiere in New York City.
  • Yeoh’s Givenchy bubble gown was a nod to the franchise with a yellow-brick hue.

Much like her Wicked character Madame Morrible, Michelle Yeoh has been taking a walk on the blonde side off-screen. The Crazy Rich Asians actress has tapped into her inner hair chameleon this year, ditching her signature middle-parted long dark locks for blunt bangs, a Marilyn Monroe-esque platinum blonde bob, and most recently, a honey-highlighted warm caramel bob on November 14. Just days later, Yeoh pushed the beauty envelope once again, debuting an even shorter hairdo as she showed off a frosted ‘90s-coded pixie cut at the Wicked: For Good premiere on Monday night.

Yeoh stole the spotlight as she posed at the Wicked: For Good New York City premiere on November 17 with co-stars Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, and Ethan Slater. The Everything Everywhere All at Once star looked almost unrecognizable as she showed off a piecey pixie cut with layered bangs and face-framing pieces hugging her cheekbones on the side—an androgynous style once synonymous with ‘90s boy bands. Yeoh emphasized the effect with distinct chunky blonde highlights woven into her warm caramel base, adding pops of brightness throughout.

The actress paired the hair transformation with bold black winged eyeliner, frosted white eyeshadow, flushed cheekbones, and pink lipstick. With her hair fully away from her face, Yeoh’s statement jewelry and head-turning bright yellow gown took center stage. In contrast to her haircut’s minimalist design, Yeoh turned up the volume with her vibrant yellow strapless Givenchy ballgown. The bubble-shaped dress looked like a ballerina’s tutu skirt, and the yellow-brick coloring was a sneaky method-dressing nod to the Wizard of Oz franchise.

Yeoh also dialed up the sartorial drama with her sculptural Mikimoto necklace, which featured several layers of whimsical floral patterns and pearls encrusted with diamonds. The delicate arrangement extended several inches down her neck, adding some major sparkle to complement her dress’s sunny hue.
