Emma Chamberlain is causing a stir online.
The content creator appeared in a Nov. 28 promo video for fellow podcaster Owen Thiele’s In Your Dreams podcast, which was set to “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” — a hit song by her ex (and PEOPLE’s first-ever Sexiest Man Alive centerfold) Role Model .
In the clip, Thiele lip syncs to audio of Role Model performing the “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” live — a noteworthy choice, as Chamberlain and the singer-songwriter (born Tucker Pillsbury) previously dated between 2020 and 2023.

Thiele mouths along as Role Model says, “Where’s my Sally tonight?” before the camera flips to Chamberlain, who then twirls into the room. (Role Model’s live performances of “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” have gone viral; after he says that signature line, he is joined onstage by a celebrity guest or fan to dance along to the hit track.)
Fans were shocked by the musical selection,, with one commenting, “Bro that’s a crazy song choice,” on Thiele’s video. “Oh hell nah, I’m like bruh. The final sally fr guys,” another commenter chimed in.
Others were surprised that Chamberlain had agreed to be in the video with the song.
She and Role Model dated between 2020 and 2023, and their relationship came to be beloved by fans of the social media mogul and the musician alike.
Role Model included Chamberlain in his music video for his song, “neverletyougo,” and the two even made their relationship magazine official appearing together for a coupled-up GQ interview early in February 2023. Later, after they split, Role Model released his sophomore studio album, Kansas Anymore, featuring a song titled, “Frances,” which many were quick to point out is Chamberlain’s middle name.

Chamberlain recently announced on an episode of her podcast that she was single again after having been rumored to be privately dating singer Peter McPoland. She and McPoland were spotted together during the 2024 Paris Olympics and coordinated Halloween costumes later that year. But on the Thursday, Nov. 13 episode of her Anything Goes podcast, Chamberlain mused about being single.
She opened the episode by sharing that she’s “going through a breakup right now” after being in a “serious relationship that was two years long,” adding “we really deeply loved each other.”
“I’ve had quite a few boyfriends, but I’ve had very short breaks in between, meaning I haven’t really been single. So it’s a little bit daunting to be in this place now where I’m single again,” Chamberlain added on the podcast. “This time, I know I should be single for a little bit longer than two or three months. I think this time I need to be single for like a year.”
Chamberlain has maintained a successful career since starting on YouTube in 2017. She has garnered 28 million followers across her social media platforms with videos, the Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain podcast and her frequent interview gigs on the Met Gala red carpet.
