Wintry mix of snow and rain falling across the state – NBC Connecticut

Spread the love

As a wintry mix of snow and rain winds down, beware of slippery conditions tonight and into Wednesday.

The precipitation began as snow in many parts of the state, and slowly changed over to sleet and rain in southern and eastern Connecticut.

Areas along Interstate 84 and north saw mostly snow, which led to slick spots on Connecticut’s highways.

There have been several accidents along I-84 and on I-91.

The far northwest hills should see all snow, with three to six inches by the time the storm winds down.

As far as temperatures go, the highs are in the mid-30s to low 40s.

We can expect precipitation to end around 10 p.m.

There is a chance for a few late snow showers and a flash freeze that happens later tonight.

Be prepared and cautious for black ice on Wednesday. You can get the latest forecast anytime here.
