Christian Pulisic is slamming those Sydney Sweeney dating rumors.
Following online rumors that he and the Euphoria actress, 28, were romantically involved following her March breakup from ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino, the soccer star, 27, set the record straight on social media.
“Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life,” Pulisic, captain of the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT), wrote on his Instagram Stories on Dec. 28. “Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives.”
Underneath another Instagram post alleging that he has been dating the Anyone But You actress, Pulisic wrote in the comments, “Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor.”
As for how the rumors started? On Dec. 25, the Italian gossip column Gazzetta reported that the unconfirmed rumors began on the Instagram page, Bomber’s DNA, and has since gained traction online.
However, Pulisic has reportedly been in a relationship with fellow athlete Alexa Melton since 2024. Meanwhile, Sweeney has been dating Scooter Braun since early September.
“Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great,” a source told PEOPLE in early December. “They’re in a committed relationship and things are serious.”

Along with being spotted together multiple times throughout the fall and into the holiday season, Sweeney and Braun were also photographed sharing a sweet kiss while sitting on a rock in New York City’s Central Park in November.
After Sweeney and Braun were spotted holding hands on a night out in Los Angeles on Sept. 30, another source told PEOPLE that the two “have a lot in common and neither one of them cares about what others think.”
Sweeney’s friends and family are “really happy about this relationship,” the source added, noting that “it’s such a relief to see her genuinely happy.”
The source also said that Braun’s friends are just as thrilled to see him spending time with Sweeney after his 2022 divorce from Yael Cohen, with whom he shares three children: sons Jagger, 10, and Levi, 8, plus daughter Hart, 6.
“They say it’s been a long time since they’ve seen him this settled in a relationship, and they can tell how much he admires her,” the insider said. “He thinks she’s smart, kind, and fun, and she appreciates how he really sees her for who she is beyond all the noise.”
