Valley families celebrate Three Kings Day with Rosca de Reyes

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — Many families across the Central Valley are preparing to celebrate Three Kings Day, also known as Día de los Reyes.

The Catholic tradition honors the day the Three Kings found the newborn Jesus.

The celebration isn’t complete without a warm, delicious Rosca de Reyes. The oval-shaped sweet bread is a staple in the festivities.

BakeryCafe Oaxaca in Clovis is preparing fresh orders for local celebrations.

”It means so much more, they are coming out here and getting the rosca from us, we are seeing customers, they do enjoy it,” says manager Rosi Garcia.

The bakery is open every day and uses fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Inside each “Rosca” there is a small baby Jesus figurine hidden within the dough. Whoever finds the figurine in their slice gets to throw a party.
