While he did not match the eight interceptions he produced last season, McKinney still intercepted two passes, defended 10 passes, forced a fumble, tallied 1.0 sack and went over 100 tackles.

Per Next Gen Stats, McKinney allowed only 0.3 yards per coverage snap in 2025, the best among all NFL defensive players with at least 300 coverage snaps. He also defended 10 passes on just 29 total targets into his coverage.

At Pro Football Focus, McKinney finished the season ranked eighth in overall grade among safeties. He missed only five tackles (4.8 percent missed tackle percentage, third best) and allowed only one touchdown pass in coverage. McKinney was one of only three safeties to have a run defense grade of at least 80.0, a tackling grade of at least 80.0 and a coverage grade of at least 75.0 in 2025.

Quarterbacks had a passer rating of only 63.8 when throwing into McKinney’s primary coverage this season.
