Rachel McAdams got emotional as she highlighted her longtime partner Jamie Linden and her family as she received a star on Hollywood Boulevard.

The actress, 47, appeared in Los Angeles for her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 20, where she shouted out both Linden, 45, and her sister Kayleen as she wrapped her speech.

“It seems silly to just have my name on here, so I share this little piece of of Earth with all of you,” the Notebook star said, as she acknowledged a number of family members, childhood friends, members of her management team and costars. “To Jamie, my North Star, Kayleen, my other North Star, thank you for being such a great team and keeping me quasi-normal. I love you all so much. Thank you so much.”

McAdams and Linden, the screenwriter behind movies like Dear John and Money Monster, have been linked since 2016. The couple have remained private about their relationship over the years and are rarely photographed together. They share two children: a son, whom they welcomed in 2018, and a daughter, who joined the family in 2020.

McAdams’ Send Help director Sam Raimi and About Time costar Domhnall Gleeson spoke about her during the ceremony. When McAdams took the podium, she got emotional as she thanked her parents Lance and Sandra for supporting her dreams.

“I do want to freeze time for a second because you only get a few of these moments in life to thank you on this stage for everything. All of it,” she said, tearing up as she recalled writing her parents a letter at age 8 urging them to let her audition for the reality series Star Search.

“All of it is because of you and the love you gave us and the beautiful childhood you gave us and for believing in me long before I could grasp how to believe in myself,” she added.

McAdams received the 2,833rd star in Hollywood Walk of Fame history during her ceremony. The actress’ new movie Send Help is her first movie role since 2023’s Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. The movie stars the Oscar nominee as a woman who is stranded on a deserted island with her boss (Dylan O’Brien, who was also in attendance at the ceremony) and forced to keep them both alive after a plane crash.

Send Help is in theaters Jan. 30.
