Miami comes into the game at 19-0 and 7-0 in Mid-American Conference play. That’s good enough for Miami to land at No. 25 in the Associated Press men’s college basketball poll.
Miami is not ranked in the USA TODAY men’s basketball coaches poll. The RedHawks are just one of three undefeated teams in Division I this season. The others are Arizona (18-0) and Nebraska (18-0). Miami is also just one of six college basketball teams that is undefeated on the road this season, along with Arizona, Connecticut, Michigan Nebraska and Purdue.
The RedHawks have also gotten some close wins in MAC play, topping Akron and Buffalo each by only three points.
Kent State, meanwhile, comes into the game with a 14-4 record and a 5-1 MAC record. KSU is tied with rival Akron for second place in the MAC.
