The Oklahoma City Thunder is filled with some of the best players in the league, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the way. As one of the primary stars, Chet Holmgren is also quite a big name in the champions’ roster.

Despite the spotlight being on the stars, the Thunder still have some underrated players on the roster. This includes Isaiah Joe, a sharpshooter who a lot of people are not talking about.
Holmgren believes Joe deserves to be in the Three-Point Shootout
In a team that mostly relies on Gilgeous-Alexander on offense, they need some shooters to put alongside the reigning MVP. Most of the time, he is playing with decent-to-good three-point shooters, but Joe is probably the team’s best sharpshooter.
Joe is shooting 41.8% from beyond the arc this season, and he shoots 5.4 threes a game. That is a superb statistic that showcases Joe’s brilliance as a shooter.

Despite this consistent excellence over the years, he has not received an invite to the three-point shootout during All-Star Weekend. That is usually a confirmation of a shooter’s reputation, but Joe has never been part of the event.
That is why Holmgren is campaigning for his teammate. It will give the Thunder another name during All-Star Weekend alongside Gilgeous-Alexander, and possibly Holmgren, if he gets the All-Star Game nod.
“That’s what makes him dangerous, his ability to get that shot off in a variety of ways, and shoot 40% while doing that,” Holmgren said ahead of their game against the Bucks.

“He deserves to be out there for the 3-Point Contest. I’m sure that’s something he would love to do. And I’m sure if he got in it, he’d go win it. The league needs to send that invite.”
Joe would probably welcome the opportunity because he could be called the best shooter in the league if he wins. It would be a challenging task, but Joe is talented enough as a shooter to compete at the very top.
