Palace owner Steve Parish was a big admirer of Lampard even before he rocketed Coventry to the top of the Championship – which has led to the coach being linked with various Premier League jobs.
The Chelsea legend is expected to feature prominently on the Eagles’ list of options to take over at Selhurst Park when Glasner walks away at the end of the season.
Whether Lampard would be willing to swap Coventry for Palace if he takes the Sky Blues into the Premier League is one potential issue.
As previously reported, Palace are also interested in Getafe’s Jose Bordalas and his La Liga counterpart, Rayo Vallecano boss Inigo Perez.
Parish and sporting director Matt Hobbs have been working on a succession plan for Glasner since the Austrian told them he was not renewing his contract in October.
Ex-Chelsea and England star to Man United?
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign former Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The Red Devils are considering signing a midfielder on loan to bolster their hopes of Champions League qualification.
Talks are only exploratory at this stage but Loftus-Cheek is keen to return to the Premier League having struggled for game time at AC Milan this season.
The 30-year-old made more than 100 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and also had loan spells at Palace and Fulham before moving to Serie A.
In October, he made his first international appearance in seven years after coming off the bench in England’s friendly win over Wales.
United have also discussed Wilfred Ndidi. The former Leicester midfielder is currently captain of Besiktas but has aspirations to return to England one day for both football and family reasons.

Fulham’s Wilson problem
Fulham are facing an uphill battle to tie man-of-the-moment Harry Wilson down to a new contract.
Wilson will be a free agent at the end of the season and has interest from a host of Premier League clubs including Everton, Leeds, Sunderland and Crystal Palace.
The Cottagers have made it clear to the free-scoring Welsh international they want him to stay, but sources have told talkSPORT he is more inclined to leave at this stage.
At 28, he can command a hefty signing-on fee and lucrative pay packet if he joins a new club in a free transfer.
Wilson has bagged seven goals in 21 Premier League games this season, as well as contributing four assists.
He came close to joining Leeds on transfer deadline day in the summer, and the Yorkshire club retain a strong interest, but Fulham manager Marco Silva has ruled out his No.8 leaving in January.

Spurs approached Carrick before United return
Thomas Frank remains in serious danger of losing his job despite being given a stay of execution for Tuesday night’s crunch Champions League clash at home to Borussia Dortmund.
If, as expected, the Spurs hierarchy decide Frank’s position has become untenable, they are likely to put a caretaker in charge for the rest of the season when the likes of Mauricio Pochettino become available.
It is thought Carrick, who played 75 games for Spurs, was sounded out about the possibility of a return to north London before landing the United job.
