A wallet and phone belonging to TV and film actor Jerry O’Connell were stolen when the “Stand by Me” and “Scream 2” star was taking a class over the weekend at a San Fernando Valley yoga studio, the LAPD tells NBC4 Investigates.

The theft occurred Saturday morning after a woman entered the studio and said she was there for a class that had already started, police said. The woman waited at the studio and asked to use the restroom before taking off with the 51-year-old O’Connell’s belongings.

O’Connell discovered the items, including the wallet with a few hundred dollars in cash, missing after the class ended.

The LAPD took a theft report and said the crime was caught on the studio’s security cameras. It was unclear whether the thief was at the studio for the class or if the theft was a crime of opportunity, police said.

A detailed description of the woman sought in the theft was not immediately available.

The amiable actor, who has two children with wife Rebecca Romijn, also had film roles in 1996’s “Jerry Maguire,” 1993’s “Calendar Girl” and Brian De Palma’s “Mission to Mars” (2000). He starred in the TV series “Sliders” and other shows and hosted a version of “Pictionary.”
