Before Caitlin Clark became a WNBA star with the Indiana Fever, she forged one of the most remarkable careers in women’s college basketball with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Clark rewrote the NCAA record books as the Division I all-time leading scorer, led the nation in both scoring and assists in multiple seasons, and guided Iowa to national championship game appearances in 2023 and 2024.
She collected multiple accolades, including two Wooden Awards and two Naismith Awards for national player of the year and three Big Ten Player of the Year awards, and her impact on and off the court made her one of the sport’s most celebrated players.

Among the players who shared the court with Clark during that historic era was guard Gabbie Marshall, a reliable starter and defensive presence who played alongside Clark throughout her Iowa career. Marshall’s steady play and leadership were integral parts of the Hawkeyes’ success from 2020 through 2024.
On Sunday, Marshall announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Spencer Touro. The 25-year-old shared the news on Instagram.
“2-18-26 WE’RE ENGAGED!! 💍So excited for this next chapter of our lives! And we’ve got a new friend to join us for the ride 🐶,” the caption read.
Former teammates flooded the comments with congratulations. Clark led the celebration with two enthusiastic messages, writing “LETSSSSS RAGEEEE💕💕💕💕💕💕” followed by “CONGRATS SISTA.”
After college, Marshall chose not to pursue a WNBA career and instead focused on her academics, earning a master’s degree in occupational therapy at the University of North Carolina. Though their paths diverged, Clark and Marshall have maintained a strong bond, regularly supporting one another on social media and in person.
Most recently, Marshall revealed she will be relocating to Indianapolis with her fiancé after her partner accepted a job there — the same city where Clark plays for the Fever.
