Benny Blanco‘s feet aren’t always disgusting.
The producer and songwriter, 37, sparked backlash earlier this week after fans spotted his dirty feet on friend Lil Dicky‘s couch in the first episode of their Friends Keep Secrets podcast. Both musicians appeared on the Thursday, Feb. 26 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where Blanco spoke about the online conversation and showed off his clean foot.
Kimmel brought up the topic at the end of the interview. “Dave and Benny are here, and I neglected something important because there is something that turned up as people were watching your multimedia experience,” he said. “People seem to be fascinated with the idea that Benny’s feet are very dirty.”
A photo of Blanco’s dirty feet was then displayed on screen. “I noticed that too, Jimmy,” said Lil Dicky, 37, whose real name is Dave Burd.
Blanco defended himself. “First of all, it’s the facility’s fault,” he declared. “It’s not mine.”
“I have great feet,” added the “Eastside” musician, who took off a sock to show off his clean foot. “Someone zoom in on my foot.”
“Look at that clean foot,” continued Blanco. “Are you kidding me?”
Lil Dicky chimed in. “It was the first day we filmed anything, so crew was coming in and out,” he said, noting that the floor “probably was a little bit” dirty.
Kimmel then said, “So, you’re saying that Dave’s floors are not clean.”
Both podcast hosts claimed that’s the reason. “You know how floors get,” said Lil Dicky.
The Friends Keep Secrets podcast debuted on Feb. 24, and fans didn’t hold back on their opinions in the YouTube comments section.
“Good podcast, wash your feet benny and wash the floors,” wrote one fan. Another added, “Benny’s filthy feet? I can’t wait to watch the next one! NOT!”
Elsewhere during the podcast’s first episode, Blanco purposely farted toward the camera. “Wait, see if you guys could pick this up,” he said before audibly passing gas.
Commenters also questioned Selena Gomez‘s decision to marry Blanco. “LITERALLY WHY would she marry him out of all the men in the world,” wrote one X user.
Later the same day, Gomez, 33, shared a video of herself giving Blanco a kiss to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “I fall more and more in love with you every day my love.”
