McDonald’s Halloween-themed Happy Meal now has a collectible competitor.
On Sept. 10, food-focused Instagram account Markie Devo posted leaked information about collectible Scooby-Doo toys coming to Burger King this fall.
The toys are inspired by Scooby Doo’s Halloween specials and taps into the nostalgia of catching the villain (thanks to those meddling kids.)
A Burger King representative confirmed to TODAY.com that its King Jr. Meals will “feature a fun lineup of collectible toys inspired by Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Gang.” available at its restaurants nationwide.
Burger King didn’t share how the meals will be packaged.
According to The Street, the limited-time Burger King x Scooby-Doo Halloween lineup features six toys: Scooby and the gang as well as the villain from “The Headless Horseman of Halloween.” All come with a removable mask.
The Burger King x Scooby-Doo Halloween toys include:
- Scooby-Doo with a mummy mask
- Shaggy with a skull mask
- Velma with a witch mask
- Daphne with a cat mask
- Fred with a Frankenstein mask
- Elwood Crane, a.k.a. the Headless Horseman with a ghost mask
The collectible cartoon toys are available nationwide with the purchase of a King Jr. Meal, but but just like Naruto’s collaboration with the chain in July, that’s only while supplies last.
Burger King has leaned into spooky season before, in 2023, when it debuted a limited-time Halloween bucket in select cities, edging in on the Golden Arches turf: trick-or-treating.
Burger King said at the time that the glow-in-the-dark Halloween keepsake was inspired by its ghost pepper menu. Resembling McDonald’s Boo Buckets, the chili-themed buckets were offered in a few select cities.
Then in 2024, as McDonald’s ghostly buckets returned as usual, Burger King instead dropped food items inspired by “The Addams Family,” including a purple “Wednesdays Whopper,” “Thing’s Rings” and others.
