Smith has been a reliable and versatile fixture on the Cowboys’ offensive line through his first three seasons.
Although he was selected with the 24th-overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft to play guard, Smith began his career with a position switch, moving to left tackle to supplement an injured Tyron Smith. Tyler Smith would go on to start all 17 games in his rookie season and continue his role as the Cowboys’ versatile option into Year 2.
Smith has since solidified himself as the primary left guard, earning his second consecutive Pro Bowl honor in 2024.
The Cowboys have been busy the last month in locking up key players to long-term contracts. Smith’s extension follows those of cornerback DaRon Bland and tight end Tyler Ferguson.
