A 9-year-old boy reported missing in New Bern has been found safe, according to the New Bern Police Department.

Police said Austin Ross was located Saturday after he and his mother, Amber Vest, were spotted walking along Neuse Boulevard.
Vest has been taken into custody..
Austin had been reported missing after he was last seen around 12 p.m. Friday in the area of 408 East Front Street. Police said he was believed to be with Vest, who does not have custodial rights, after the child was not returned following a visitation period.
An AMBER Alert had been issued for the child earlier Saturday.
No further information has been released.
