Alix Earle Admits She Drunkenly Texted Her Ex at 5 a.m. and They ‘Haven’t Talked Since’

Alix Earle is only human.

While appearing on the March 4 episode of Drew Barrymore’s daytime talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, the social media mogul — who was there promoting her new skincare line, Reale Actives — was asked about the “last bad idea she had.”

“Oh, my gosh. Probably texting my ex at, like, five in the morning after going out. Not the best idea,” Earle laughed in a clip from the interview.

“But you know what? So human,” Barrymore reassured the 25-year-old social media star.

Earle recounted the decision, made after a few drinks during a night out, and the sweet way her sister tried to intervene.

“I was looking with one eye at the phone, and my sister’s like, ‘If you’re gonna send this, at least send it with it all spelled correctly,'” the social media star said, laughing.

“So she’s helping me check all the spelling on everything, and I’m like, ‘This is so great,'” Earle added, recalling how she was waiting for her mac and cheese to warm up in the microwave as she sent the text.

“How did you feel after you sent it?” Barrymore asked.

“Oh, terrible,” Earle replied. Asked if anything came out of the message, Earle’s reply was negative.

“We haven’t talked since,” she admitted.

Earle didn’t specify which ex she was referring to in the clip.

The social media star split from her longtime boyfriend of just over two years, Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios, 30, in December.

Just over a week after the news of the pair’s separation, Earle was spotted cozying up to another football player: retired New England Patriots star, Tom Brady, 48, while the two were in St. Barths to celebrate New Year’s.

Just a few months later, the two publicly reunited over Super Bowl weekend, and videos shared on social media by DeuxMoi showed Brady Earle talking and dancing at a party ahead of the big game on Sunday, Feb. 8.

Though reps for Earle and Brady have not commented on the relationship, a source told PEOPLE in early February that the pair were “hooking up.”

Earle has also kept her followers up to date when it comes to how she’s been coping in the wake of her breakup. In a TikTok posted on Feb. 25, Earle, 25, revealed that she saw her ex in person for the first time since October over the weekend. “It was honestly just really hard for me — really weird, really hard,” admitted the internet personality.

PEOPLE previously reported that the duo was both at the Palm Tree Music Festival in Aspen, Colo., and both attended a Palm Tree Pre-Party at Kemo Sabe hosted by SipMARGS, the beverage brand in which the two are investors.

“I was really emotional the first night,” she recalled of the weekend. “We were in the same place, but we didn’t say hi to each other, just ’cause I don’t want to, like, go up and annoy him.” She added that the pair spoke “briefly” at the second event.

“It’s weird when you go from someone being like your best friend to being a stranger in the corner of the room,” she said. “So that was tough. And by tough, I mean terrible.”
