Enhancing Safety, Accessibility, and Mobility for Residents
The City of Doral officially celebrated the completion of its Citywide Trolley Shelter Project with a ribbon cutting ceremony, marking a major milestone in enhancing safety, accessibility, and mobility for residents across the community.
Mayor Christi Fraga, joined by members of the City Council, City administration, and representatives from the Public Works Department, Arango Billboard & Construction, and Gannett Fleming, commemorated the project’s completion and the impact it will have on daily life in Doral.
The project included the installation of ten (10) new trolley shelters, along with sidewalk and ADA improvements and landscaping enhancements at key locations throughout the city. These upgrades provide safer, more comfortable waiting areas for trolley passengers while improving walkability and connectivity citywide.
“Every day, our residents rely on the trolley to get to work, school, and the places that matter most,” said Mayor Fraga. “These new shelters are about more than infrastructure, they’re about making that daily experience safer, more comfortable, and more connected. It’s another step in building a city that truly supports and moves with its people.”
The City’s free trolley system offers a convenient, no-cost way for residents and visitors to get around Doral. These new shelters elevate the experience by providing more comfortable, accessible spaces to wait, rain or shine.
The Citywide Trolley Shelter Project reflects Doral’s continued investment in infrastructure that supports a connected, sustainable, and inclusive community, while improving quality of life for those who live, work, and visit the city.
