Now, the Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, is also speaking out about the 0-2 series deficit, per Greg Wyshynski of ESPN.

“Obviously, the urgency is heightened,” said Crosby. “I think it’s always heightened when you’re down in a series. You’re trying to give momentum back. I’ve been up 3-1 in a series. I know how quickly that can turn.”

The Penguins have struggled in the series overall. They have scored just two goals over two games, after being shut out in Game 2. Crosby does not have a point, while having seven shots and a minus-two plus/minus rating.

“The power play is not always going to score, but you want to try to at least get momentum from it. And we haven’t done a good enough job doing that,” Crosby said. “Teams’ kills are going to be good, especially this time of year. So I think the biggest thing for us is give ourselves a chance to contribute. And if not, then at least get some momentum. So executing that would, I think, go a long way, for sure.”

Pittsburgh has yet to score on the powerplay, and has also given up a shorthanded goal. Meanwhile, the defense has struggled, giving up three goals in each game.

If the Penguins are going to make the comeback, it starts on Wednesday night. The series moves to Philadelphia for Game 3, with puck drop at 7 p.m. ET.
