BTS fans rode the streetcar to the Sun Bowl in El Paso, where they lined up, traded freebies and connected before the concert.
UTEP officials are advising BTS fans to download tickets ahead of time and confirm entry gates to avoid long lines and delays reported at the band’s first show on Saturday in El Paso.
The UTEP Office of Special Events posted on Facebook on Sunday, May 3, that concertgoers should utilize all gates in order to ensure entry after fans took to social media, venting that they waited hours in line to get into Sun Bowl Stadium, resulting in the concert being delayed nearly an hour.
“We ask you to please use all available gates so we can get everyone in, in a timely and safe manner,” the University of Texas at El Paso posted on Facebook.
The post reminded fans that general admission can enter at North, South East and South West Gates. VIP Soundcheck tickets can enter through the North Gate, and premium ticketholders and ADA can enter through the West Gate.
The post also attached QR codes for further instructions on how to locate the gates.
UTEP officials also reminded fans to download tickets to avoid connectivity issues. The first concert experienced technology issues, according to the post.
Doors were scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m. for the first night of a pair of BTS concerts at Sun Bowl Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3.
At about 8 p.m. — the time that BTS was supposed to hit the stage — long lines of fans appeared to be weaving through the UTEP campus, according to several social media posts. The concert ended up starting about an hour late and ended about midnight, fans said.
