Ryan Seacrest is getting a lot of buzz for his hosting lately.
The TV personality has emceed American Idol since the first episode in 2002, and the ABC series will air its season 24 finale on May 11. But it’s not only the viewers who appreciate the work he’s put into the show.
On May 5, nominations for the 2026 Critics Choice Real TV Awards were announced, per Deadline. American Idol got nominated for Best Competition Series, Talent/Variety. Ryan received a Male Star of the Year nod for American Idol and Wheel of Fortune. The winners will be revealed on June 3.
American Idol’s social team gave the host a shoutout on Instagram.
“Congratulations to @ryanseacrest and the #AmericanIdol cast and crew on their Critics Choice Realty TV Awards nominations! 🎶 🌟,” the caption read.
When fans saw Ryan’s heartfelt career update, they sounded off.
“Congratulations!!! Well deserved. American Idol is one of my favorite shows on TV,” one person wrote in the comments. “❤️ You deserve it all,” another penned. “Well deserved! Ryan IS Idol!”
American Idol has been nominated four times in this category (most recently in 2025), but has never won.
