Government offices will be closed Tuesday
Canada marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30, which falls on a Tuesday this year.
The day is set aside to honour residential school and day school victims and survivors.
Government offices at all levels will be closed, but the holiday is optional for the private sector. Here’s what’s open and what’s closed in New Brunswick.
Retail and grocery:

Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be open regular hours.

Walmart, Sobeys and Atlantic Superstore locations will be open regular hours.

N.B. Liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Saint John City Market will be closed.

Regent Mall in Fredericton will be open.

Champlain Place mall in Dieppe will be open.

McAllister Place in Saint John will be open.
Government offices, public services:

Service Canada and other federal offices will be closed.

Saint John Transit and Codiac Transpo in Moncton will operate under regular hours.

Fredericton Transit will run on a one-hour service cycle — the same as a normal Saturday schedule.

Service New Brunswick will be closed.

Public libraries will be closed.

Ciity halls in Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton will be closed.

Fredericton arenas, sports fields and the indoor pool will remain open. The Nashwaaksis Field House will be closed.
