LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Get your Flux Capacitor ready and hoverboard on standby because this morning on Good Day Las Vegas celebrated ‘Back to the Future’ day.

October 21, 2015, is the day that Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to in Back to the Future Part II. This year is special because it’s the 40th anniversary of the original movie.

JC Fernandez was live at Pandemonium Cards & Comics in Henderson for Back to the Future Day where he was joined by store owner Steve Johnson and ‘Back to the Future’ historian Chris Sandford.

Johnson is celebrating the day by offering a 19.85% discount on select items, which honors the film’s original release date of 1985.

Sandford was on hand with one of the country’s most impressive real-life DeLorean time machines, complete with a functioning flux capacitor and the mind-reading headpiece worn by Doc Brown in the first movie.

He also had screen-used props, Marty’s hoverboard, Biff’s hoverboard, the “Sports Almanac” from the movie, and one of the disappearing photos from the franchise.

Sanford shared some excellent ‘Back to the Future’ trivia, such as producers planning to use a refrigerator as the time machine before realizing kids might copy that idea, which could be dangerous. Also, that actor Eric Stoltz was originally cast as McFly, but after five weeks of filming, he was replaced by Michael J. Fox.

You can join Pandemonium at the Trunk or Treat at the Pecos Windmill Plaza in Henderson from 5-8 pm on October 24. There will be decorated cars, candy, and spooky surprises. Pokekon will host a LaBuBu Costume Contest and give the first 20 kids free trainer ears and shoes for their Labubu. For more details, please visit their Facebook page.
